In Wilmington, the best-known bakeries and bagel shops have lines on weekend mornings, so arrive early or order ahead where the shop offers it. Across North Carolina, immigrant bakeries add Mexican pan dulce, Vietnamese banh mi bread, Chinese buns, Middle Eastern sweets and European rye to the mix, and many gluten-free and vegan bakeries have opened in larger cities. Check the listing for hours, whether the shop accepts custom cake orders and its Google rating before you go, and call about allergens, since small kitchens often share equipment. Day-old bread and end-of-day discounts are common if you ask.

I learned there was a Cinnaholic in Wilmington after driving an hour there to do some shopping I made sure to stop here. I was excited because I love cinnamon buns. When I walked in I explained it was my first visit and didnβt know what to get. This obviously meant nothing to the girl behind the counter! She just looked at me without saying a word. I said I liked apples and still no recommendation, just a sense of her just wanting me to order. I finally ordered and asked for a coffee. Her reply; β we donβt have coffee.β Iβm looking at a coffee machine THEN she said, βthe coffee machine is broke.β OK I then asked for a cup of water and was then told, βyou can buy a bottled water!β WOW! I donβt make reviews often but I was totally excited to visit this store and felt I was almost an inconvenience to this employee. I got my bun, which was good, but the visit here was disappointing. I will not go out of my way again to stop at this place! Iβll not even go into how the two girls were dressed and looked that worked there.

We went in today and the two girls working the counter were so sweet. They whipped up our order very quick and they even helped us with menu options. As you can see they do not skimp on the icing which they have a bunch of types of. Very very indulgent and yummy. Would definitely recommend stopping in

We were the first ones in after the door unlocked (on a Saturday). We got 3 specialty cinnamon buns. The toppings and icing were great but we thought the buns could of been a bit softer. I struggled to cut mine with a plastic knife.

If you love cinnamon bunsβthis place is a must! I had the bananas foster, which was phenomenal, and my friend had the Biscoff βI took a picture of the two (one topped with strawberries), as they are seasonal. So get them while you can. I highly recommend having lunch & heading over here for dessert. I sampled a bit of my friendβs Biscoff and oh my goodness! I wish they had at least one table inside, in the cornerβit would be nice as it is sometimes too hot to eat outside & they only had one table right outside. Please add more seating because these treats are delish! Youβll get more business for sure! Enjoy yβall π Josephine Local Guide
